以前に紹介をした徳島県海陽町にある母川は、ホタルの生息地としても有名です。
母川ホタル祭りも、毎年行われます。
徳島県では、6月の上旬から中旬くらいにホタルの見ごろを迎えます。
ホタルの季節になると、夏が間近にやってきたことに気づかせてくれます。

Hahagawa (Haha river) in Kaiyo-cho, Tokushima is famous for big eels as I introduced before but also famous for fireflies.
"Hahagawa Hotaru Fesvival" is held every year too.
*Hotaru means firefly in Japanese.
In Tokushima, Fireflies dance wildly from the beginning of June to the middle of June.
The season of the fireflies remind me that the summer is comming soon.

せり割り岩は不思議な言い伝えを持つ岩です。
大うなぎが岩の間に入り込み、そこから出られなくなったそうです。
その母うなぎのために、子うなぎたちが餌をせっせと運んでいるうちに、母うなぎは更に大きくなりました。
ある日、大きくなった母うなぎの体が岩を割ってしまいました。
それがせり割り岩だそうです。

今でも、この岩の隙間は大うなぎ達の隠れ家となっているそうです。
またこの大うなぎの生息地は、国の天然記念物に指定をされています。

Seriwari-iwa has an interesting legend.
A big mother eel was inside of the rock but could not get out from there.
Then kids eels brought foods to their mother and a mother's body was being bigger inside of the rock.
One day, her grown body broke that rock.
After that, that rock was named as Seriwari Iwa.

Even now, the big eels are love to live in the Seriwari Iwa.
Besides, this area is listed as "Natural Monument" by Japanese Government.

化石蓮痕（かせきれんこん）は、波の跡が化石となったものです。
この宍喰の化石蓮痕は非常に広範囲（30m×20m）で見られる非常に貴重なものです。
国の天然記念物にも指定をされております。

This ripple marks at Shishikui is very significant because of its size（30m×20m）.
Besides, this ripple marks are listed as a natural monument by Japanese government.
