お城というよりは、大きな屋敷のような雰囲気です。

This historical castle is also listed on the World heritage.
Although, this castle does not seem to be a castle but it does seem to be a palace.

退蔵院も妙心寺にある48の塔頭の一つです。
非常に美しい枯山水庭園と池泉廻遊庭園を楽しむ事が出来ます。
特に枯山水庭園は狩野元信作と言われ、絵師による設計のとても珍しい庭園（名勝）です。
池泉廻遊庭園は中根金作による設計です。

Taizo-in is also one of the 48 temples in Myoshin-ji.
There are two absolutely beautiful gardens, one is Karesansui (dry landscape) garden and the other is stroll garden with ponds.
Especially, Karesansui garden (listed as "Scenic Beauty Garden") is possibility designed by Motonobu Kano who is famous painter.
Therefore, this garden has unique origin.
Stroll garden is designed by Kinsaku Nakane who is fantastic designer in Showa era.
