280 高尾山蛇滝口 - Mount Takao Jataki Trail

高尾山の登山コースの1つ蛇滝コースです。
蛇滝では水行が行われます。
この水行道場の脇を通り、ケーブルカー駅の側に出る登山コースが蛇滝コースです。
坂は急で、休憩場所もお店も中腹までありません。
道は狭く、急な斜面に面しているので、足元にはお気をつけ下さい。
1時間から1時間半で中腹につきます。
雨天時、雨後は道が悪くなるので危険です。
他のコースをお選びください。

修業が行われる際は、修行の邪魔にならないようにしましょう。

Jataki trail is the one of mountain trails at Mount Takao.
Waterfall asceticism is held at Jataki (Snake Waterfall ) in Mount Takao.
You can walk aside of the ashram and a mountain trail towards to the half way up the mountain.
There are not any rest spot and shops till climbed up.
This trail is narrow and faces the steep slope so please watch your step.
It takes 1 hour to 1.5 hour to the goal.
When raining and after raining, the path will be slippy and very dangerous.
Therefore, chose the other trails.

While waterfall asceticism is held, do not disturb them, please. 

蛇滝口バス停を降りたところ。前に見えるのは圏央道です。
バスは高尾駅北口から、1時間に1本程度です。

The big bridge is Ken-o Expressway.
The bus service is very limited, only one or two a hour.

舗装された道を歩いていきますが、延々と上り坂です。
Walking along the nice path but all uphill.

沢に沿って登って行くので、夏場でも涼しいです。
Climbing up along the mountain stream, we can get coolness even in summer time.

沢が右手側に来たら、道場が近いです。
After the stream came to the right hand side, the ashram is closer.

道場の先からは細い道を登って行きます。

ところどころ足元が悪いとことがあるので、お気をつけ下さい。

途中で圏央道八王子ジャンクションを見ることが出来ます。

ここまで来るとケーブルカーの音が聞こえてきます。

高尾山側からの蛇滝への看板ですが、小さく目立ちません。
看板にある高尾駒木野庭園は旧甲州街道沿いにあります。

高尾駅北口バス停より、小仏行バス(京王バス)に乗車(約10分)。
蛇滝口バス停下車。徒歩約5分。
バスの本数が少なく、また2台~3台運行されていますが大変混雑します。

高尾駅北口より、徒歩約40分。

蛇滝コースは急な上り坂が続きます。
1時間から1時間半で中腹に到着します。
下りは約40分、もしくはもう少し早いです。

雨天時、雨後は危険なので、他のコースをお歩きください。

Get on Keio Bus to Kobotoke(小仏) at Takao-eki Kitaguchi Bus stop (高尾駅北口) and get off at Jataki-guchi bus stop(蛇滝口) following 5 mins walk.

The bus service is very limited besides, buses are very crowded especially weekend even extra bus is provided.

About 40 mins walk from Takao Station North entrance.

Jataki trail is steep slope all the way.
It takes 1 hour to 1.5 hours to the half way up the mountain.
The downhill way takes about 40 mins or less.
When raining and after raining, the path becomes dangerous.

279 高尾山口駅駅舎 - Takaosanguchi Station building

 ここ数年で有名になった高尾山ですが、その玄関口である京王線高尾山口駅駅舎が2015年4月24日に新しくなりました。
隈研吾氏の設計です。

 高尾山は杉が有名なため、杉材が使用されています。
また様々な木組みが採用されており、目立たないところにも、驚くような伝統技術が使用されています。

Takao-san (Mt. Takao) is became very famous recently.
Its front gate, Takaosanguchi station building (Keio Line) was renovated on 24th Apr 2015.
This new appearance was designed by Kengo Kuma.

 Mt. Takao is famous for the ceder trees therefore, ceders were used.
In addition, many kinds of timber works which are traditional techniques were installed.
So, details of this station building are also significant and beautiful.

278 羽村チューリップ祭り - Hamura Tulip Festival

羽村堰から5分ほど歩いた先にある、「根がらみ前水田」では桜の咲いた後にチューリップが咲き誇ります。
見渡すかぎりに植えられたチューリップが咲く姿は圧巻です。
羽村堰でのさくら祭りに続き、ここでチューリップ祭りが開催されます。

 関東で最大級のチューリップ畑になるそうです。

チューリップの花が終わった後は、水田として本来の役目に戻ります。
ゴミ捨てなどのマナー違反には注意しましょう。

 Hamura Tulip festival is held at "Negarami-mae Suiden" (Negarami-mae rice field) which is 5 mins walk from Hamura Intake Weir after Sakura festival.
After Sakura time, many many many many tulips bloomed and they color the rice field amazingly.

 When tulip time finished, this field become to the rice field.
Therefore, please avoid the breach of manners.

277 羽村堰の桜 - Sakura around Hamura Water Intake Weir

羽村取水堰(羽村堰)は江戸の発展に大きく寄与した施設です。
この堰から多摩川の水を玉川上水に取り入れます。
玉川上水は43km先の四谷まで続いています。

1654年に作られ、玉川上水の一部は当時の姿のまま現在も使用されています。
玉川兄弟が上水の工事を請け負ったと伝えられています。

また、桜の木が植えられ、桜の名所にもなっており、さくら祭りが開催されます。
残念ながら、訪れた数日前に降った雪と雨のため、桜は散ってしまってました。

Hamura Intake Weir was a significant facility to have developed Edo ( = old Tokyo).
This weir intake water from Tamagawa (Tama river) to Tamagawa Josui (Tamagawa Aqueduct) which is leading to Yotsuya, about 43km.

水上公園裏の枝垂桜はまだ満開でした。

 These Weir and Aqueduct were said that constructed by Tamagawa brothers.
Those facilities were completed in 1654 and also a part of Tamagawa Aqueduct has still used with the original form.

 Furthermore, Sakura were planted around the weir and the aqueduct so that this area became famous Sakura spot.
Thus, Sakura festival is held every year.
Unfortunately, Sakura already dropped their lovely flowers before my visit due to the snowy and rainy days few days ago.
