Dancers hold Naruko (clapper?) and use it for their dance.
Original Yosakoi is "Bon Odori" style.
However, since the music arrangemnet was allowed, there are so many new styles appeaerd.
This movements made Yosakoi famous and now many places have Yosakoi festival too.

Fireflies in Hahagawa

Haha River
5th Jun '10

Hahagawa (Haha river) in Kaiyo-cho, Tokushima is famous for big eels as I introduced before but also famous for fireflies.
"Hahagawa Hotaru Fesvival" is held every year too.
*Hotaru means firefly in Japanese.
In Tokushima, Fireflies dance wildly from the beginning of June to the middle of June.
The season of the fireflies remind me that the summer is comming soon.

Rice Fields

Gotenba-shi, Shizuoka Prefecture

Fields of Gold
This word describes Japan very well, in my opinion.
The early Autumn color of Japan is exactly gold.
Rice fields turn to be gold color and its scenery is absolutely icon of Japan.

Hanabi

Hachioji-shi, Tokyo
Early-Aug, 09

Early-Aug, 09

Hanabi (Fire works) is the most popular summer event in Japan.
We can enjoy the fire works somewhere in Japan almost every weekend from the end of July to the end of August.
Japanese fire works have its own beauty.
The reason of this might be there were no war during Edo era in Japan.
Therefore, gun powder was not used for the military purpose and it was used for only fire works.
