Otani-Yaki (Otani ware) was originated in Naruto, Tokshima is one of the famous traditional handcrafts in Tokushima.
As Japanese pottery, the history of Otani-yaki is not long.
It is said that origin was in 1780.

Big Otani-yaki pots have been used for Aizome (Indigo dye) therefore the large size potteries are more famous than small potteries.
In addition, the process of making big pots are absolutely significant.

Every 2nd Saturday and Sunday in Novemnber, Otani-yaki Kama Matsuri (Otani-yaki festival) is held at Torin-in, Naruto-shi, Tokushima.
Many visitors come and enjoy shopping their favorite Otani-yaki.
Many kinds of Otani-yaki is sold with discounted price.

東林院境内

臨時駐車場が東林院近辺に設置され、係の方たちが誘導をしてくれます。
会場までは少し歩きますが、堀江北小学校の校庭が臨時駐車場として開放され、広く止めやすいです。
次年度以降の駐車場の位置は、出発前にご確認ください。

Temporary car parking area is provided and guards will give you direction.
Need to walk bit to Torin-in but the ground of Horie Kita Elementary school is opend for the car park and easy to park.
Please make sure the location of car parking area for following year before you visit there.

徳島県を代表する観光名所の一つが、名勝に指定をされている鳴門の渦潮。
満潮と干潮時に渦潮が発生します。
潮流の速さは日本一で、世界でも三番目の速さだそうです。

渦潮を楽しむには、海上45メートルの高さから渦潮を見ることのできる「渦の道」と渦潮のすぐ近くにまで行く「観潮船」の二つがあります。

Naruto-no-Uzushio (Naruto whirlpools) is one of the popular sightseeing spot of Tokushima.
This whirlpools are recognized as "Scenic Beauty" by Japanese Government.
High tide or Low tide makes many of whirlpools.
Especially one hour before and after tide movement, the whirlpools are seen.
In addition, a tide speed of this Naruto Straits is third fastest in the world.

You can see the Naruto whirlpools with tow ways.
One is seeing from the observation deck (Uzu-no-Michi) where is located on 45m above the sealevel.
The other is taking a Steamship to close to whirlpools.

JR鳴門駅より鳴門市営バスまたは、徳島バス「鳴門公園行き」に乗車。
「鳴門公園」下車

鳴門北ICより車で約10分。（鳴門公園の駐車場に駐車をしてください。一日410円）


Take a Naruto Shiei Bus or Tokushima bus to "Naruto Koen Iki" from JR Naruto Station.
Get off at "Naruto Koen" bus stop.

10mins drive from Naruto Kita IC (Please park at Naruto Koen car parking. 410Yen for a day)

サッカースタジアム、野球場、体育館に武道館といった運動施設だけでなく、公園や日本庭園もあります。

Naruto Sogo Undo Koen (Naruto Athletic Stadium or Naruto Otsuka) occupies huge area.
This park contains Soccer stadium, Baseball stadium,Gym and Budo-kan also, park and Japanese garden.

This stadium is a home ground for the soccer team, Tokushima Vortis which belongs to J League Division 2.
Whenever Shikoku Derby Match is held, this stadium is filled with passionate supporters.
Furthermore, there are lawn area in the stadium therefore, we can enjoy the lovely sunshine.
