大仏殿をはじめ、多くの建造物が国宝や重要文化財に指定されています。
現在の大仏殿は江戸時代に再建されたものです。

また、東大寺の多くの建築物に大仏様（だいぶつよう）という独特の建築様式が使用されています。
大仏様をもつ現存する建造物は数少なく、とても貴重です。

日本国内では、東大寺の南大門、鐘楼、開山堂、法華堂、転害門、大仏殿。
元興寺禅室、浄土寺浄土堂が現存する大仏様の建造物です。

Todai-ji(Todai-ji temple) is very famous for Daibutsu (Great Buddha).
This famous temple is recognized as a World Heritage Site.

Not only Daibutsu-den also many buildings are recognized as National Treasure and Important Cultural Property.
Current Daibutsu-den was rebuilt in Edo Era because it was destroyed by fire caused by war.

In addition, many architectures in Todai-ji has significant features which called Daibutsu-yo.
Not many buildings in Japan has this Daibutsu-yo style.
In Japan, you can see this style on Nandai-mon, Sho-ro, Kaizan-do, Hokke-do, Tegai-mon and Daibutsu-den in Toda-ji.
And, Zen-shitsu at Gango-ji and Jodo-do at Jodo-ji, Hyogo prefecture.

JR奈良駅バス停、2番乗り場より、市内循環外回り（2系統）に乗車。
大仏殿春日大社前バス停下車。（約8分、200円）
徒歩5分。

近鉄奈良駅バス停、1番乗り場より、市内循環外回り（2系統）に乗車。

Hokke-do is same as Daibutsu-den.
However, Hokke-do is closed between Aug 2011 and the end of Mar 2013 due to the reconstruction.


Take Bus route 1 (Shinai Junkan Sotomawari) from "JR Nara-eki" bus station (No 2 bus bay).
Get off the bus at "Daibutsu-den Kasuga Taisha mae" bus stop. (About 8 mins, 200 Yen).
Then 5 mins walk.

Get off the bus at "Daibutsu-den Kasuga Taisha mae" bus stop. (About 4 mins, 200 Yen).
