新薬師寺は聖武天皇の病気平癒を祈願し、光明皇后によって747年に創建されたと伝えられています。

南門（重要文化財）

奈良時代に建てられた本堂（国宝）内には、薬師如来坐像と十二神将像が安置されています。
十二神将像（国宝）は奈良時代に作られた塑像で、薬師如来（国宝）を護衛しています。

Shin Yakushi-ji (Shin Yakushi-ji temple) is said that built in 747 by  Empress Komyo to cure Emperor Shomu of his disease.

本堂（国宝） - Hon-do (National Treasure)

Hon-do was constructed in Nara-era (8th Century) and registered as National Treasure by Japanese government.
Inside of Hon-do, Yakushi Nyorai (National Treasure) and Juni Shinso (National Treasure) are housed.

Juni Shinsho were made of clay painted in Nara era.
They surround Yakushi Nyorai as the guard.
